Ashley Fernandez, BCBA

Ashley Fernandez is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. She received her master’s degree in Special Education from Grand Canyon University and completed her board certification requirements at the Florida Institute of Technology. Currently, she is pursuing her Doctorate Degree in Psychology specializing in Applied Behavior Analysis.

Ashley has worked with children and adults with a wide range of diagnosis for over 8 years. She has treated patients at school, in the home, and in clinical settings. Ashley is military spouse and mother of four who knows firsthand the additional challenges of life in the military. She has had the privilege of working with patients who are members of military families throughout her career and provided them assistance in overcoming those additional challenges. She specializes in patients diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and using Applied Behavioral Analysis to manage behavioral issues. These include but are not limited to highly aggressive behaviors, self-injurious behaviors, and verbal behaviors. She has experience employing the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) and AAC device to address verbal behaviors. She provides life skills training as well as social skills development with her patients. She believes strongly in the mantra “it takes a village” when practicing behavioral therapy. Ashley works with family members and parents as well as the patients because proper parent and family training is critical when working to provide the patient the best overall care and outcomes.
